Privacy Policy
fun-run.app ("we", "us", or "our") is a territory-claiming game that uses your Strava activity data to power a real-time map. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data we collect
When you connect your Strava account, we collect and store:
- Your Strava athlete ID, first name, last name, and profile photo
- OAuth access and refresh tokens to make API calls on your behalf
- Activity data for runs recorded after you connect: activity type, distance, duration, start time, and GPS route polyline
We do not collect payment information, precise location outside of Strava activity data, or any data from your device directly.
How we use your data
- To decode your GPS route and compute territory polygons for the map
- To display your username and claimed area on the public leaderboard
- To refresh your Strava access token so the app continues to work
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Activity data is used solely to power the territory map feature.
Data storage
Your data is stored on a private server and is not publicly accessible except for the information displayed on the territory map (username and claimed area). GPS polylines are stored server-side and are not directly exposed via the API.
Data retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by disconnecting Strava via the app settings, or by contacting us at the email below.
Strava data
We access Strava data under the Strava API Agreement. We request the minimum required scope (read,activity:read_all) and only read activity data recorded after you connect your account.
Your rights
- Access: You can view all data associated with your account through the app
- Deletion: Disconnecting Strava removes your connection data. Contact us to delete your full account
- Revoke access: You can revoke our Strava access at any time via strava.com/settings/apps
Delete your data
If you are signed in, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data — activities, territories, and Strava connection — using the button below. This action is immediate and irreversible.
